ART submited representation to the Education Minister

ART submitted a representation to Sri. P.K. Abdu Rabb, Hon’ble, Minister for Education, Kerala Government regarding the issue of pension benefits of Private College Teachers who entered into service before the implementation of Direct Payment and retired there after its implementation of Direct Payment.  The issue was due to the letters from Principal Secretary,  Higher Education (F) Department, Kerala State  to the Director of Collegiate Education stating  that the service of Private College Teacher  before the implementation of Direct Payment don’t qualify for pension and  asking to review such  cases of “irregular” payment of pension  and revise the same .

In the representation, ART requested the Hon’ble Minister  to look into the this serious matter and to issue orders to the effect that the long settled pensionary claims of Private College employees need not be re-opened.

The representation was submitted to Hon’ble Minister at his office in Thiruvananthapurarm  on 28 November 2012.  Prof. K.K. Unnikrishnan (ART President), Prof. M. Thahir,  Prof.  T. P. Ahamed, Prof. T. Kunheedu (ART Secretay) , Prof. A. Kuttialikutty, Prof. K.M. Abdu Rasheed  and Prof. G. Geevarghese (RCTA Secretary) were in the team to give the representation.

The Minister assured the members of the team that the matter would be considered favorably.
